FISHING
For all you
SERIOUS FISHERMEN Washburn County lakes offer over 30,000 acres of the
best fishing around. Birchwood boasts the title of Bluegill Capitol
of the World, while Long Lake captures the title of Walleye Capitol of
the State. There are too many walleye lakes to list separately.
Local sports shops can direct you to the action.
The State
of Wisconsin recommends the Namekagon River for trout fishing on it's
many tributaries. The State also recommends Long Lake for walleye,
northern, largemouth bass and panfish. For muskie, walleye,
smallmouth bass and panfish the State also recommends Shell Lake.
